灯明台の空(Sky above the Lightouse)

船橋大神宮にあるこの古い灯明台は明治28(1895）年まで稼働していました。
下から見上げてみると、青い空と白い雲を背景として実際よりずっと高く見えるように感じました。

This old lighthouse which stands in the precincts of Funabashi Daijingu shrine worked until 1895.
When I looked up the lighthouse, I felt that it looked much taller than it actually was against the blue sky and white cloud.

雨降る町の若葉(Young Leaves in the Rainy Town)

朝の空は雲で覆われ、小雨が川面に小さな波紋を作っていました。
雨に濡れた若葉が、街を綺麗に見せているような気がしました。

Morning sky was covered with clouds, and the gentle rain was making tiny ripples on the river water.
I felt that those wet young leaves made the town beautiful.

ＪＲ船橋駅北口のペデストリアンデッキの上で撮影しました。
この日の朝は小雨が降っていましたが、昼前には天気は回復しました。
青空には白い雲が残っていました。

I took these photos on the pedestrian deck above Funabashi station north square.
On that day, we had light rain early in the morning, but it got fine before noon.
White clouds stayed in the blue sky.

海からの風(Wind from the Sea)

"海からの風"という題名の、この美しい彫像は本町にある児童公園に立っています。
作者は筑波大学の教授であった柴田良貴氏です。

This beautiful statue named "Wind from the Sea" stands at a children playground in Hon-cho.
The author is Yoshiki Shibata who was a professor at University of Tsukuba.

長津川親水公園の桜(Cherry Blossoms at Nagatsugawa Water Park)

長津川親水公園は東武線の塚田駅の近くにある静かな公園です。
公園の周囲には多くの桜が植えられていて、のんびりと花見を楽しむのに良いところです。

Nagatsugawa water park is a calm park located near Tsukada station of Tobu line.
Lot of cherry trees are planted around the park, and it is a nice place to enjoy cherry blossoms viewing in relaxed mood.

今週末には満開になるのでしょう。

I took these photos on a  bridge named Taro bridge which is over Ebigawa River
I suppose that those cherry blossoms will be in full bloom this comming weekend.

栄橋のブロンズ像(Bronze Statue on Sakae Bridge)

栄橋は海老川の下流に架かる橋です。
その橋にある像は、"手のひらを太陽に”をイメージしています。
この写真を撮ったのは夕暮れ前で、陽は後ろに傾いていました。
いつか、太陽がこの像の上にある時に、撮りなおしてみたいと思っています。

Sakae bridge is a bridge over down stream of the Ebigawa River.
Image of that statue comes from a famous Japanese song for children, "Teno Hira o Taiyou ni (when you hold your palms up to the sunshine)".
I took this photo late in the afternoon, and the sun was behind the statue.
I think I will try to capture the statue again when the sun is above it.
